Frames
1. Any rear wheel drive frames allowed.
2. Must have stock frame back to center of rear axle tube.
3. Uni-bodied cars must have front and rear frame tied together on both sides
using a 2" x 3" .083 tubing or square tubing.
4. No front clips or tube frames allowed.
5. Cars maybe jigged from rear axle tube back.
6. Minimum wheelbase is 101 inches.
Roll Cages
1. Must consist of continuous hoops not less than 1.5 inches outside diameter
and must have a wall thickness of at least .095 inches.
2. Must be mounted no less than four places.
3. Mild steel tubing is recommended. No brazing or soldering allowed, has to
be welded.
4. Driver door bars must be as parallel with the ground as possible and located
perpendicular to the driver as to provide maximum protection for the driver.
Door bars must be no less than .095 thickness, must have a minimum of 4 bars at
least 1 and 1/2" in diameter in driver's door and must have at least side
structure of same diameter for passenger side.
Bodies and Weight
1. Must be as stock appearing, steel or aluminum allowed. Car must weigh a
minimum of 3,000 lbs. Any car using PBM I or GMPP 602 SEALED ENGINE may weigh a
minimum of 2,800 lbs. PBM II or GMPP 604 may weigh a minimum of 2,900 lbs.
2. All doors must be bolted or welded shut. All exterior (chrome or moldings)
must be removed.
3. Rear deck spoiler maybe used but may be no taller than 5 inches and must not
be wider than the body of the car.
4. No sideboards or spoiler supports from anywhere but behind.
5. Bumpers must be mounted securely. Reinforcement directly behind bumper is
allowed, but must be concealed behind.
6. Aftermarket nosepieces ore allowed, however, they must appear unaltered and
fit the rest of the car's body.
7. Rear of car must be boxed in to at least meet rear bumper. Sheet metal ok.
8. ALL CARS MUST HAVE FRONT AND REAR TOW HOOKS AND MUST BE ABLE TO SUPPORT THE
WEIGHT OF THE CAR.
9. No glass or mirrors are permitted of any kind.
10. Interior of car must be completely stripped, but maybe decked in.
11. Numbers must be at least 18 inches high and 3 inches thick on roof and
sides. Car number must appear on fuel cell and nose at a minimum of 5 inches.
12. Ballast will be allowed but MUST be painted white with car's number on it.
Safety
Helmets are required and must meet Snell 95 or newer standards. Helmet must
accompany vehicle at time of inspection and must not be cracked.
1. Fire race suits of a flame retardant nature must be worn by all
competitors. Two piece are allowed. Fire resistant gloves and shoes are
recommended.
2. Fire extinguishers are required and must be charged and securely mounted.
THIS MUST BE DONE AT TIME OF INSPECTION OR YOUR CAR WILL NOT RACE!
3. Aluminum racing seats are required.
4. Competition type 5 point seatbelts are required. Belts must be at least
three inches wide and must not be older than 3 years.
5. Loose objects and or ballast is not permitted in drivers compartment or
outside the body area.
Wheels and Tires
1. AR and Hoosier Racing tires of up to nine inches will be allowed.
2. Medium or Hard compound only.
3. Any DOT tire with a maximum width of 9 inches allowed.
4. Beadlocks are optional but may only be ran on the right side of the car.
5. One inch lug nuts are required and larger studs may be installed.
6. No wide 5 wheels.
Transmission Bell Housing and Clutch
1. Transmissions must have at least one forward and one reverse gear, plus a
neutral position, and must be able to be shifted by driver.
2. Clutch type transmissions must be equipped with a steel bell housing.
3. Triple Disc Clutch allowed.
4. Bert or Brinn or aftermarket tranny allowed.
5. Power Glide w/ Coupler OK
Battery and Kill Switch
1. Batteries must be securely mounted and may not be inside of the drivers
compartment.
2. Stock type battery ignition only, NO magnetos.
3. Kill switch is required, and must be located within easy reach of the driver
and track staff.
Drive Shafts
1. DRIVE SHAFTS MUST BE STEEL AND MUST BE PAINTED WHITE!
2. Drive shaft loop required and must be no more than six inches back from the
front of the drive shaft. It must be steel.
Engines
1. Cast iron blocks and heads required. Aluminum 1 piece intakes and water
pumps ok.
2. Engine offset must be kept within two inches of the centerline of the front
cross member.
3. Engine motor mount locations cannot be removed or altered on block.
4. Castings and fittings must not be changed or altered.
5. #1 Plug no farther back than center of ball joint.
6. Engine cooling system maybe modified.
7. No dry sump systems allowed. Oil pump must be located inside of engine.
8. Headers are allowed and must be round tube and must be mounted to direct gas
away from drivers compartment.
9. Mufflers are recommended.
10. Vehicle must start w/ out being pushed or pulled. MSD ignition allowed.
11. GMPP or PBM Sealed engines ok. (See weight requirements)
Aspiration
1. A single two or four barrel carburetor is allowed. A spacer is allowed but
may only be 1 and 1/4" from top to bottom. Double pumper is allowed.
2. Engine must be normally aspirated no fuel injection.
3. Racing fuel cells are required and must be mounted by at least two steel
straps, two inches wide by 1/8" inch thick around cell. Fuel cells must be
enclosed in a steel container, mounted behind rear axle only and must be
protected by tubing. 32 gallon maximum capacity.
4. Gasoline or Alcohol only.
5. No nitrous or power adders.
6. 750 cfm carb maximum. If you run a larger carb you must add 50lbs to car.
Rear Ends
1. Any OEM passenger car type or truck types may be used. Floater rear ends
ok.
2. No aluminum allowed except lowering blocks, axle caps and drive plates.
3. No quick change devices allowed.
4. Ford 9 inch rear ends are allowed to be used in all brands of cars.
5. Locking and Posi track rear ends allowed.
6. No traction control devices of any kinds allowed.
7. No J Bar or Panhard Bar devices of any kind.
8. No Pull Bars.
9. No Lift Bars.
Shocks and Springs
1. 1 Shock per wheel.
2. No shocks permitted anywhere on the car except for the wheels.
3. No coilover shocks.
4. No external valve shocks.
5. No double adjustable shocks.
6. Shock claim rule in effect. If you finish in the top 5 you have the ability
to claim 1 shock per night. Claim fee is $125.00 to be paid to track. If
driver who is being claimed refuses, he forfeits his pay and points for that
night. Claim fee is nonrefundable even if claimed driver refuses.
Steering
1. OEM steering box only and must remain withing original bolt pattern for type
of frame used.
2. No rack and pinion.
3. No center steering. In cockpit steering maybe modified to drivers taste but
must remain on left side of car.
Brakes
1. All cars must have brakes in operating condition on all four wheels and must
lock up on all four wheels during inspection.
2. OEM brake calipers only, rotors may be modified or drilled to help with
duration.
3. After market brake pedals and bias adjusters are allowed.
4. 3 wheel brake switch allowed, but no electronic switches. Must be manual
valve.
Suspension
1. Rear suspension may be altered from coil to leaf springs using stock OEM
parts and blocks. Multi leaf springs are allowed. Mono leaf springs are not
allowed.
2. No torque arms or lift bars.
3. Weight jacks are optional. No hydraulic or mechanical jacking devices are
allowed.
4. Front upper tubular a arms are permitted.
5. Stock spindles only.
6. One shock per wheel but does not have to mount in stock location. |
